QWASI News

Wildlife in Art – Qwasi’s big, beautiful exhibition at the Pine Rivers Art Gallery/Strathpine from February 18th – April 4th 2009

Wildlife in Art Exhibition - Wednesday 18th Feb - Saturday 4th April 2009 - Pine Rivers Art Gallery

The Art of Conservation 2008 (USA) has been a great success with record numbers at the dinner and presentation. Lyn Ellison and Sandra Temple both had artworks accepted in this prestigious, juried exhibition and Lyn was able to attend the opening and meet Robert Bateman.

A new alternate “Green” paper is now available: Hahnemule’s Bamboo Paper for mixed medium with 90% bamboo & 10% rag, this very strong, natural, white paper feels like 300gm but is, in fact, only 265gm. Suitable for pen, pencil, coloured pencils, watercolour, pastel & acrylic. The surface is soft but slightly textured. Bamboo is also a newcomer as a textile in the clothing industry and is a great alternative to cotton.

Advance notice for Caldera Art 2009
(formerly Tweed Naturally Art Awards)
Showcasing the regions’s distinct biodiversity – festival & exhibition during October/November.
