About Liz

Liz was born in Perth Scotland where she spent her early years sketching, painting and ardently studying any book on art from her local library. Although excelling in art throughout her school years she was unable to fulfill her ambition to make art her career, due to circumstances beyond her control.

After her marraige she moved with her two small sons and husband to Auckland New Zealand, where they remained for seventen years, during which time Liz ran a successful business in the fashion industry.

Time for a change and on the move again, this time to Australia. Settling in Brisbane, with the children grown Liz decided to return to her first love, painting. For the next four years Liz attended classes with teaching artist Ramon Girardi, finding herself tackling many new subjects, and enjoying the opportunity of developing her skills further. Exhibiting in local shows and galleries with excellent results, her paintings were sold to local and overseas buyers many going to New Zealand, Europe and the USA.

Deciding to further her skills she became a pupil of innovative artist Donald James Waters, here her horizons were expanded into a more exploratory path as she experimented with all mediums available, becoming skilled in graphite, pastel, watercolour, acrylic and her old favourite oils.
