She is a self taught painter, her medium varies throughout her work from pencil, gouache and acrylic but is, most often, water colour. "My two great passions in life are wildlife and art. As a wildlife carer, I am so fortunate to have close contact with some of north Queensland ’s rarest and most endangered species.
My work and income are derived from these magnificent north Queensland landscapes, habitats and creatures. My sole reason for selecting this place as my home is the exceptional and rich natural environment of the tropical north. I believe it is very important for us all to realize that many people like me earn their living, not by changing their environment but by becoming part of it and in the case of artists by sharing images of this very precious place with others.
We are surrounded by some of the most rare, ancient and beautiful landscapes and creatures on earth, We are privileged indeed!"
Daryl’s work shares the beauty and uniqueness of our precious Australian flora and fauna with others, her hope is that it will inspire us all to care for it and conserve it for generations to come.
